CAAPS Healthy Families Program evaluation
CAAPS Aboriginal Corporation is a community-based service located in the Northern Territory. In 2022, CAAPS engaged 360Edge to undertake a comprehensive evaluation of the Healthy Families Program. The Healthy Families Program is a 12 week family inclusive residential rehabilitation service for Aboriginal people.
Our evaluation involved:
- Using a collaborative design approach we got input from key stakeholders with expertise and experience in the delivery of the Healthy Families Program to develop the evaluation framework
- Working with CAAPS to develop a program logic that identified the key elements of the program and causal relationships between program elements
- Reviewing key program documents and funding reports
- Consultations with internal and external stakeholders as well as service users
- Analysing program and service user data to understand program activity, including service delivery fidelity, service outputs and program impacts
- Benchmarking the evaluation findings against best practice for alcohol and other drug treatment for Aboriginal people
This evaluation provided CAAPS with an independent assessment of the program’s operations and performance. The findings will support and guide ongoing service improvement and development and will assist with ongoing monitoring and quality assurance.
