Effective program design across Australia: Celebrating 15 years

Over the past 15 years, we’ve partnered with organisations and services across the country to design evidence based and impactful programs that work. Over these years, our work has spanned a diverse range of projects, each carefully tailored to meet specific challenges and populations.

Reviewing Toora Women Inc’s programs and designing a tailored day program

Back in 2013, we worked with Toora Women Inc in Canberra to review their clinical programs and design and evaluate an evidence based, comprehensive eight week day program tailored for women.

Integrated with case management, the program focused on vocational education and relapse prevention, emphasising the importance of personalised, holistic care.

To support Toora Women Inc with implementing the program, we developed a facilitator manual for the program and delivered training to staff.

Addressing youth crime with a criminogenic program

In 2018, we worked with Youth Support and Advocacy Service (YSAS) to develop a specialised criminogenic program for young  people at risk of reoffending related to alcohol and other drug use.

Taking a collaborative design approach, we developed six engaging group sessions focused on emotional regulation and impulse control which aim to positively influence young people’s behaviour.

Redeveloping the impactful Plan.Drive.Survive Comprehensive drink driver education program

A standout project is our development of the Plan.Drive.Survive Comprehensive drink driving education program in 2020, developed in collaboration with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads. Completion of this program is a requirement for drivers convicted of two or more drink driving offences within a five year period.

We comprehensively reviewed existing approaches and documentation, identified gaps, redeveloped the Plan.Drive.Survive Comprehensive program modules based on existing materials, and redeveloped the facilitator manuals, participant workbook s, and training videos.

The evidence based program is delivered both face to face and online,  empowering participants to make lasting behavioural changes.

Designing tailored, evidence based program modules that work

Further examples of our commitment to collaborative, evidence based program design are illustrated in our work with St Vincent de Paul Society NSW and Queensland across 2022 and 2023.

We partnered with St Vincent de Paul Society NSW to develop program modules for their day program, Catalyst, targeting people with complex needs.

Through detailed needs assessments and collaboration with frontline staff, we designed ten psychosocial modules that provide practical, engaging support in areas like mental health, managing difficult emotions, building supportive relationships, and maintaining physical wellbeing.

The response from both clients and staff has been positive, highlighting the impact of tailored and evidence based program design.

In partnership with St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland, we revised the model of care for their six residential alcohol and other drug services operating across Queensland and redeveloped the program modules to align with contemporary best practices, including motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy.

In addition, we revised the program’s facilitator manual and ran training workshops for group facilitators to support successful implementation. This rigorous redevelopment has equipped facilitators and clients alike with the tools needed to achieve meaningful, sustained recovery.

As we celebrate 15 years of 360Edge’s dedication to social change through exceptional program design, we look forward to continuing to see the transformative impacts these thoughtfully crafted programs have on communities across Australia.
