Who should attend
This specialist skills workshop is suitable for new, experienced and advanced practitioners. It is designed for workers in both low threshold and clinical alcohol and other drug settings who want to enhance their skills in working effectively with neurodivergent clients.
Gain practical strategies for supporting neurodivergent clients in alcohol and other drug settings
Neurodivergence impacts the way that people perceive, experience and navigate the world. It can affect how people engage in alcohol and other drug use and how they access and participate in treatment.
In this new workshop, we explore the relationship between neurodivergence and alcohol and other drug use. Learn about autism, ADHD and other neurodivergent conditions and understand traits associated with neurodivergence where there might not be a diagnosis.
Gain insight into how neurodivergent traits can influence alcohol and other drug use engagement and treatment outcomes. Learn practical strategies to recognise neurodivergent needs, adapt and tailor interventions and create inclusive, supportive care environments to get the best outcomes.
Walk away with skills to improve engagement, tailor interventions and better support the diverse needs of your clients.
