Supporting safe withdrawal across the Australian Capital Territory
November 2025

Imagine being able to stop using alcohol or other drugs without needing to leave your home or family behind. That’s exactly what the nurse-led Non-Residential Withdrawal Support Service offers – vital, wraparound care for people across the ACT and regional NSW who want to make a change, safely and supported, in their own environment.
At 360Edge, we were thrilled to partner with Karralika in exploring how this innovative Capital Health Network funded service is tracking and where it might go next. What makes this work so exciting is its potential to reshape how withdrawal support is delivered, anchored in people’s everyday lives, rather than removed from them.
Taking our signature collaborative design approach to service development and evaluation, we teamed up with Karralika’s dedicated staff, Capital Health Network who funded the evaluation, and sector experts to take a detailed look at what was working and what could work better.
We kicked things off with a quick trial to test feasibility, then took a deep dive into service data and consultations with stakeholders across the board. It allowed us to identify what was working well and where some improvements could be made. Our recommendations are already helping Karralika sharpen its focus, evolve its model, and better meet the needs of the people it serves.
This kind of reflective, data informed process is something we’d love to see more of across the sector. It’s not just about continuous improvement, it’s about growth, innovation, and building services that genuinely work for the people who need them most.
If you’re thinking about taking a closer look at how your service is operating, a fresh perspective can spark real impact.
